How you can help

We're proud to be able to help you when you need help. But we're not too proud to say that we need your help!

There are so many, many ways for you to contribute to our department - and most of them don't involve responding to a fire or medical emergency. Of course, a contribution of some item we need or money is always appreciated. But if given a choice, we'd rather have your talents and your time!

Want to be a firefighter or first responder?

If you're a good team member and are physically fit and willing to make a commitment of time to serve your community, you may be eligible for this demanding program. Your contributions will be great, but the feeling you get when you save a life of a small child can't be beat! Meet our requirements, and we promise you a chance to have that feeling.

Want to help maintain our trucks, equipment, or facilities?

If you're good at working with your hands and like the satisfaction of a smoothly humming engine, have we got a job for you! Many of our trucks are old and always need repair! Even if you're all thumbs but would be willing to help keep the firehouse neat and clean, or help out with the lawn maintenance, you can be a Marlow star!

Want to help in the office or with fundraising activities?

Every community has a computer wiz or two. If that's you, we need your help with keeping records and statistics on what we're doing. If computers are not your thing, how about helping plan fundraising activities or cooking some chili for a community supper?

Want to help with long range planning and grant writing?

Finding grant sources and writing proposals is a science in itself. If you have grant writing expertise, we need you! Come help us plan for the future and fund those plans!

Want to help with our community relations program?

We need volunteers to help write press releases about our department for the local newspaper, take pictures at fires and other events, and help give presentations about the department to community groups. If you have creative talents or people skills to share, please share them with us!

Want to help recruit other volunteers?

Some people have the knack for encouraging others to help. If that's you, we can create a year-round volunteer recruiting program with you as its director!

Want to help with our fire safety education program?

Did you always want to be a teacher? Come be one! We need volunteers to present fire safety programs in our community schools.

Give us a call with suggestions for other ways you may help!
